Mary A. Houlihan (Green), age 87, of Weymouth passed away on July 2, 2017. Mary was born, raised, and educated in Boston. After marrying her beloved husband, James, they settled together in Medford where they started a family. In 1967 Mary and her family moved to Weymouth where they have lived ever since. Mary loved gardening and was a true family women who put others in front of herself. She worked at South Shore National Bank for several years before retiring to help care for her grandchildren and also later worked at Levaggi’s Candies on Rte. 18.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband James Houlihan of Weymouth, her loving children David Houlihan of Weymouth, and Paul Houlihan and his wife Donna of Norton, and her cherished grandchildren Amanda and Lindsay Houlihan of Norton. Mary is also the loving sister to Joseph Green and his wife Rita of Medford and the late Claire Hurley, Dolores Connors, and Hubert Green.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Mary on Wednesday July 5, 2017 from 4-8pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30am on Thursday for a Celebration of Life prior to the Funeral Mass in honor of Mary which will be held at 9:30am in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth. Donations may be made in memory of Mary to the Alzheimer’s Association at 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452.
