Cirilo (Popotche) Tavares (66) of Whitman died June 30th surrounded by his family in his sons home in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He was the loving husband of Maria (Dos Santos) Tavares.
He was born in Praia, Santiago, Cabo Verde son of the late Constantino and Mariana (Goncalves) Tavares. Cirilo owned a trucking firm in Cape Verde. He enjoyed listening to traditional Cape Verdean music and socializing with family and friends.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his 6 sons, Claudino, Claudio, Jairson, Anilton, Luis and Adilson, 4 daughters, Claudia, Claudina, Loide and Xandinha, 1 brother Na Na Tavares, 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Brockton Thursday July 6th from 5-9 pm. Burial in the Cemeterio de Varzea, Praia, Cabo Verde on Wednesday July 12th.
