Joyce Grinstead Long, 70, beloved wife of the late George M. Long, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM om Sunday, July 2, 2017 at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Terri Degenhardt officiating. Burial will follow in the church memorial garden.
Joyce was a lay minister at St. Augustine’s before her move to North Carolina. She was a member of Kappa Delta Gamma, as well as being a member at both the CSRA Shag Club and the Richmond Reelers. She had retired from Blue Ridge Elementary after serving as the school’s principal.
She is survived by her son; Steve Long (Allison) of Greensboro, NC, her daughter; Kathy van Wilgenburg (Ronald) of Elburn, IL., and her grandchildren; Justin Griffis and Samuel Long.
The family will receive friends at a reception at the church following the burial.
