Jewell Cagle Walker, 91, of Tifton passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dan Eidson, the Rev. Andy Ring and the Rev. Charles Walker officiating. Mrs. Walker will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 1, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Walker’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Tony Sorrells from the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia will serve as honorary escort.
Born January 28, 1926 in Marion, Alabama, Mrs. Walker was the daughter of the late Leander A. Cagle and Cora Dees Cagle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John T. “Shine” Walker, Sr.; one brother, Aklee Cagle; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Loreen and Werness Lucas and Modean and Early Caudle. She was a member of Tifton’s First Assembly of God.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her children and their spouses, Jane Baker of Albertville, Alabama, formerly of Omega (Randall Baker, deceased); Buddy and Frudy Walker of Omega, the Rev. Charles L. and Laverne Walker of Tifton and Bobby and Vickie Walker of Omega; ; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
