Joan G. (Domeracki) LaFreniere, age 74, formerly of Belchertown, MA passed away on June 30, 2017 with her loving family. Joan was born in Springfield to the late Edward and Adele (Kowal) Domeracki. Joan graduated from Chicopee High School, Holyoke Community College and Columbia University. Joan ran her Physical Therapy Practice in New York City until 1989 when she moved to Belchertown. She authored three books and many articles regarding Physical Therapy techniques. Joan was also a black belt in Judo and a Master Gardener, Joan loved dogs and had many throughout her life. She trained some of her pets to be certified therapy dogs and visited local nursing homes. Joan leaves four children, son Robert LaFreniere and his wife Ann Marie of Hampden; daughter Linda Brainard and her husband Curt of Canton, Ct; son Gary LaFreniere of Chicopee; daughter Tracy Dobosz and her husband Greg of Chicopee; her cherished grandchildren Alex, Alicia, Rocky, Brian and Randi LaFreniere and Danielle, Kyle and Derek Dobosz as well as four great grandchildren. She also leaves her brother Ed Domeracki and his wife Carole of Granby, CT; sister Jean Collins and her husband Donald of Chicopee and brother Richard Domeracki of Granby as well as many nieces and nephews. Joan’s former husband Bruce LaFreniere of Chicopee passed away on May 31, 2017. The LaFreniere family would like to thank Western Mass Hospice for all the care and support especially Maryanne and Rachel in the past week. The burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of life for Joan will be held at a later date.
