Mary C. Adams

Stoneham – Mary C. (McAdoo) Adams formerly of Arlington, died at home on Monday, Sept. 27, 2005. She was the beloved wife of Robert James Adams of Arlington and Winchester.

A graduate of Matignon High School, she was the daughter of William A. McAdoo and Edith Yore McAdoo of Cambridge and Arlington, MA. The youngest of six children, she is survived by two brothers, William A. McAdoo of Wells, Maine and Albert McAdoo of Tampa, Florida.

Formerly a realtor at Hunneman Coldwell Banker in Winchester, she was the Human Resources Manager at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital for more than ten years. She was the first woman director and first woman flag officer at the Winchester Boat Club.

Mrs. Adams was the devoted mother of Michele M. Norman and her husband Ron of Winchester, MA Denise A. Wallace and her husband Jeremiah of Newburyport, MA., Andrew Paul and his wife Danielle of North Reading, MA., and Alison Cohen and her husband Andrew of Winchester, MA. She is survived by seven grandchildren: Andrew, and Hanna Norman, Liam and Ella Wallace, and Jake, Kate and Lila Cohen.

Visiting hours will be held at the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington Street, Winchester, MA. On Thursday, September 29, 2005 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Eulalia’s Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2005.
