Gilford-----Mary Lou Goddard, 88, of 28 Dockham Shore Road died at her home on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.
Mary Lou was born on November 20, 1928 in Laconia the daughter of Henry T. and Margaret D. (Crandall) Spear. She was a graduate of Laconia High School.
Mary Lou was co-owner of Laconia Hardware in Laconia and also enjoyed her years as a secretary at the Belknap County Nursing Home.
She was involved for many years in service projects in Gilford including her membership in the Gilford Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Winnipesaukee Ski Club, the Winnipesaukee Yacht Club, and as a Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include her children and grandchildren, Gregory Goddard, and his wife, Denise; Wendy Barrett, Mary Jane Moir and husband, Glenn, Jennifer Goddard, Jeremy Goddard and his fiancé Amanda Duncan, Daniel Stone and Annika Stone, and Nicholas Gilbert. She also leaves her brother, Donald A. Spear and his wife Nancy of Gilford; and several nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, John F. Goddard, Jr. and brothers, Henry J. Spear, Jr. and Robert H. Spear, sisters, Kathryn A. Barnard and Sara J. Spear.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday July 7, 2017 at 3pm at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road, Gilford, N.H. Rev. Michael Graham, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.
There will be a private burial ceremony.
