Lory “Ernest” White, 56, of Sumner passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at his brother’s residence in Lenox. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Brad McVea officiating. Mr. White will be laid to rest at Ty Ty First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, June 30, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Art Spears, Larry Weaver, Anthony White, Tommy White, Nicholas White and Craig Massey will serve as pallbearers.
Born November 11, 1960 in Tifton, Mr. White was the son of the late Lamar White and Ellie Williams White. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie White and one brother-in-law, Donnie Ford. Before retiring, he worked with the Georgia Department of Transportation for 33 years. He loved hunting, fishing and skeet shooting with his best friend, Art.
Mr. White is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Angel and Paul Slocumb of Thomasville and Britney Harnage of Lenox; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Benny and Willie Mae White and Tony and Loretta White, all of Lenox; one sister, Nancy Ford of Lenox; one sister-in-law, Cheryl White; and seven grandchildren, David, Sierra, Brandon, Gabriel “Boomer”, Serenity, Brooklynn and Kalista.
