Rosa (Passanisi) Pugliares, 80 of Somerville MA, died Wednesday in the New England Medical Center, Boston. Born in Augusta, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and the late Palma (Mignosa) Passanisi. Mrs. Pugliares died unexpectedly. She was a resident of somerville for over thirty five years. Rosa was very devoted to her family and loved being with them during holiday celebrations and other family functions. She was an avid bingo player and was always willing to try her luck on lottery scratch tickets every chance she had. Rosa is the beloved wife of the late Giuseppe Pugliares. She is survived by her children, Rosario Pugliares and his wife Matilda of Somerville, Frances Santini and her husband Claudio of Medford, Domenic Pugliares and his wife Patricia of Cambridge, Lidia Capriotti and her husband Paul of Somerville. She is also survived by ten loving grandchildren and five loving great grandchildren. Sister of Franco Passanisi and his wife Letizia of East Boston. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Polycarp Church, 100 Temple St., Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 & 7-9. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
