On Sunday, June 11, 2017, Charles F. “Willy” Wilcox passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Orlando, Florida. Charles was known by many names to those whom he loved and who loved him over the course of his life. He had hundreds of friends and was a tireless supporter of his extended family. He was always active in his beloved Teamster Union where he served as President for Teamster Local 379 and as Shop Steward at Boston Sand & Gravel where he drove a truck for nearly 50 years.

He is predeceased by his wife Lucille (Aprille) Wilcox and is survived by his son, Michael of Shrewsbury, daughter, Laura Abaire of Orlando, Florida and son, Joseph of Colorado as well as his sister Alice Benvisutto of Florida. He has four grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a great many nieces and nephews.

Willy was always proud of his ability to make a buck, having owned several businesses including the Fireside Restaurant in Dedham. He was best known for his willingness to help a friend in need, his generosity was legendary. He remained close with his childhood friends for his entire lifetime. Following his retirement, he dedicated his life to his beloved wife, nearly single handedly managing her care while she suffered with early onset Alzheimer’s disease.

He will be sorely missed, but his family finds solace in the fact that he is reunited with his wife and our mother in heaven.
