John Laurence Lyons, of Everett, formerly of Medford, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, June24th at the Eastpointe Rehabilitation in Chelsea. He was 75.
Born in Medford, he was the son of the late Hugh and Mary (Joyce) Lyons and attended local schools. After graduating from Medford High School with the class of 1961, John furthered his education and obtained his Associates Degree. John worked as an auditor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts within the Department of Insurance.
After John retired in 2001, he spent his time visiting with family and friends. He was a simple man who was always positive and supportive. John had a wonderful sense of humor and was fun loving. He also enjoyed fine dining with his family and friends.
He was the Cherished father of John Lyons and his wife Michelle of East Falmouth, Jeffrey Lyons and his companion Kathleen of Lowell, Scott Lyons and his wife Heather of Westford. He was the loving grandfather of Jessica Mary Lyons, Kara Frances Lyons, Adam Scott Lyons, Joseph John Lyons and Sean Richard Lyons. John was the dear brother of Maureen Bates and Kathleen Zaslaw and her husband Jeffrey, all of Scituate. He was the devoted friend of John F. Arinella of Everett and is also survived by two nieces and five nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford on Thursday, July 6th from 8:30 through 9:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 10AM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
