Ruthie Levora White Wright, also known as Granny, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at her home in Water Valley, MS. Ruthie was born September 20, 1929 to the late Alford and Sally Hervey White. She confessed to the Lord at an early age and joined Bayson Chapel Baptist Church. She adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. She retired from the dry cleaners after forty plus years of work. Ruthie loved family, baseball, and listening to gospel music.
Funeral services are planned for 12 Noon Monday, June 26, 2017 at Bayson Chapel Church with Reverend Amos Sims officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Bayson Chapel Cemetery with Tommie Turner, Shalamar McJunkins, Kenny White, Travis White, Mirocus Phillips, and Shun Willingham serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred White, S.T. White, Charles White, Shelby White, Wesley White, Carl Polk, and Leon White.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Major Wright; three sisters, Rose Austin, Mattie Finch, and Annie Mae Woodard; and three brothers, Charlie White, Winston White, and Leslie White.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Ruthia Wright of Memphis TN; a son, Charles (Shirley) Wright of Water Valley, MS; six grandchildren, Carla (Tommie) Turner, Fernicia Wright, Ternicia (Shalamar) McJunkins, Tracy (Linda) Townsend, Charles (Nycoma) Wright, Charico Wright; 17 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, one sister-in-law, Georgia Ann White, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
