Gilda A. (Affonse) Alves. Age 86. Wife of the late Joseph “Bebe” Alves. Residence 33 St. James St., Fall River, MA. Died Monday at the Catholic Memorial Home. Born in Fall River,MA. Daughter of the late Manuel Affonse and the late Victoria (Cordeiro) Affonse. She was a life long resident of Fall River, Ma. Before retiring, she was a Sewing Machine Operator at Lynn Jay and previously at Schniederson Mfg. She was a parishioner of St. Michael Church
She is survived by One Daughter: Victoria Botelho of Fall River, MA and Mother-in-law of David Botelho. One Sister: Mary Ferreira of Somerset, MA. Several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late John, Manuel, and Antone Affonse, Lena Pereira, and Eva Viana.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Thursday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church, Essex St., Fall River at 10:00 A.M. Internment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 5-8 P.M.
