Ronald “Labanz” Rheaume, 73, of Lawrence, and former longtime resident of Salem, NH, was called home to our lord on June 16, 2017.
Ron “Labanz” Rheaume was born on December 9, 1943 to his hardworking, loving parents, Frank and Jeanette (Fontaine) Rheaume in Lawrence, MA. He attended Lawrence High School and eventually settled in Salem, NH to raise his family. A selfless and generous man, Ron was a master craftsman and his talents were widely recognized and shared with all who needed only to ask but his first true devotion was to his family. He was a self-employed general contractor and master plumber for many years. Ron had faith in humanity and his character, integrity and, most notably, his good humor were displayed through his generosity to those who were less fortunate than himself. As a devoted outdoorsman, Ronald loved to fish, ride dirt bikes, and target shoot. He was also known for his love of cuisine from dining with his family at the newest restaurant in town to cooking every Christmas dinner with the utmost care. Many will keep fond memories of Ron’s outdoor lobster bakes and gatherings held throughout the years. Ron touched many lives as the father, grandfather, brother, neighbor and friend who never failed to help anyone at any time and he will be sadly missed.
Ronald is survived by his three devoted children; his son, John Patrick Rheaume and his wife Nancy of Derry, NH, his daughter, Brenda Marie Rheaume-Wilson and her husband Leonard Wilson of Londonderry, NH and his son, Patrick Owen Curtin and his wife, Jennifer of Cranford, NJ. He was the cherished grandfather to his four grandchildren; Devin, Zachary, Emily and Grace. Ronald was also the proud great-grandfather to his great-granddaughter, Gemma. He is also survived by his brother and sister; Lorraine Casey of Lawrence, MA and Dick Rheaume and his wife Vera of Kissimmee FL, long- time companion Lillian Gray and her daughter, Lisa Gray, his brother-in-law, Gerry Leblanc of Methuen and his former wife, Noreen O’Connell Rheaume. He was also the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and a loyal friend to countless others. In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Leblanc and his brother-in-law, Emile Casey.
