Romana M. Ehrlich, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the age of 79, with her loving family at her side. She was the wife of the late Dr. Mariusz R. Ehrlich.
Born in Rzeszow, Poland, Romana was the daughter of the late Jaroslaw Zarudski and Gabriella Skoczek. She was only two years old when Germany and the Soviet Union invaded Poland in 1939. At the age of 16 she had moved to England, She ultimately immigrated to the United States and first settled in Elmira, New York. A short time later she relocated to Buffalo, where she met Dr. Mariusz R. Ehrlich. Upon their marriage in 1960, the two moved to Greater Boston. They first lived in Quincy and then moved to Braintree where they began their family and made their home for ten years. Later, they settled in the town of Wellesley where they resided for thirty years. In 2004, they relocated to Natick.
Romana will be fondly remembered as a devoted and loving wife, grand-mother, and friend. She most loved the ability to prepare and keep a wonderful home for her family. She was known for her outstanding culinary skills which she so happily shared with her family and friends. In her spare time, Romana enjoyed painting, was an avid reader. She was especially proud to be able to recite Polish poetry by memory. However, nothing meant more to her in the world than being a grandmother.
She is survived by her son Paul Ehrlich, his two children Bobby Ehrlich, and James Ehrlich, their mother Gwen Chang, all of Kew Gardens, NY; daughter Maria Theresa Ehrlich and her husband Kenneth Rogers of Manhattan, NY. She will always be remembered as the “Best Mother In The World”.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Patrick's Church, 44 East Central Street, Natick, on Saturday, September 16th at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A luncheon will follow.
