Ramon Vermon Ray, 82, of Tifton passed away Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Ray at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mr. Ray will be laid to rest at a later date.
Born December 8, 1934 in Atlanta (Fulton County), Mr. Ray was the son of the late Robert Vernon Ray and Lillian Beatrice Edwards Ray. Before retiring, he was employed in the Housekeeping Department at Tift Regional Medical Center. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Ray is survived by one son, Robert Victor Ray of Tifton; one daughter, Christina Deanne Spires of Tifton; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Ted and Jean Ray of Greenville and Tim Ray of Kennesaw; one sister, Doris Pittman of Conyers; and two grandchildren, Tekara Star Ray and Abigail Walker; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Greer and Jonathon Greer; and one great-grandson, Jakob Hernandez.
