Karen Christena Burton Garland
January 9, 1970- June 15, 2017
Karen Garland, left her earthly home Thursday, June 15, 2017 and went to be with her Lord and Savior.
Karen was born on January 9, 1970 to Thomas E. and Ruth A. (Ward) Burton, at St. John's Hospital in Anderson. Upon graduating from Madison Heights High School class of 1988, Karen then decided to join the Marine Corps and spent part of those 4 years in Okinawa. Karen later attended Harrison College, Anderson, and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice on April 24, 2015.
Karen was a member of Southern Heights Christian Church all of her growing up years and later attended Madison Park Church of God. Karen met Mike Garland at Southern Heights Church when they were teenagers. They found each other again as adults September of 2009 and were married on April 20, 2013.
Those surviving and blessed with good memories of Karen are her husband, Mike; her parents; her daughter, Alexandria (husband-Jake) Thomason of Anderson; her sons, Taylor and Thomas Sosinski of Michigan; her granddaughter, Christena Sosinski, of Anderson; her stepsons: Daniel, James and Kain Garland; step daughter Arianna Garland, her special friend, Michelle Payne, her four brothers, an aunt, an uncle, and cousins.
As per Karen's wishes, cremation and organ donation were chosen. A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held at Rozelle- Johnson Funeral Service.
