Jerry Fulford, 71, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at Life Care Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Blane Jacobs officiating. The family will receive friends at The Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald, Saturday from 3 PM until the service hour.
Mr. Fulford was born August 12, 1945, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Freeman Cleo & Vera Jean Whaley Fulford. He graduated from the Toccoa Falls Institute in Toccoa, Georgia and later moved to Tampa, Florida, where he was the district manager for Kentucky Fried Chicken. Mr. Fulford moved back to the community 40 years ago and managed Panama Seafood Kitchen. He was an avid roller skater and enjoyed going to Lake Bea. He also loved motorcycles and hotrod cars. Mr. Fulford was very attentive and cared for his mother in her later years.
He is survived by his children, Michelle Day & Kelly of Fitzgerald, Michael Fulford of Panama, Shane Fulford & Dawn of Tifton, Jerry Wallace Fulford & Katherine of Missouri, Lisa Fulford of Fitzgerald and Teresa Fulford of Knoxville, Tennessee; four sisters: Frances Stokes & Billy of Lithonia, Jo Ann Tucker, Ollie Brown and Betty Jean Dorminy, all of Fitzgerald. Several grandchildren also survive.
The family would like to express their gratefulness to his many friends at Life Care Center along with the excellent care from staff.
