Dora L. Huegel, 88, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2017. She was born in Boston, Mass on May 29, 1929. She was the daughter of Giacomo (Jack) and Caterina Basso.
Dora is predeceased by her husband Joseph M. Huegel, her son Joseph IV and her brother Al Basso.
She is survived by one son, Jack E. Huegel (Janis), granddaughters Emily and Olivia of Florida, Elsie Basso (sister) and Clara Basso (sister-in-law).
Dora proudly served as a US Navy Submarine wife for 23 years.
Dora was a fixture of Kingswood Drive in N. Stonington, Connecticut for over 60 years who loved the quiet serenity of her hometown. Per her wishes and private personality, there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers or donations it is her preference to “spend quality time with family members and loved ones”
The family wishes to send gratitude to her neighbors in N. Stonington as well as Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London for their kind care and support in her final days.
