Emily Fowler Wynn, 65, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Willson Hospice House in Albany, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Crossview Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Wynn was born January 24, 1952, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Durward Earl & Mary Helen Gillis Fowler. She was a graduate of Northside High School in Warner Robins and earned an Associate’s degree from Macon Junior College. She received her lab technician training in Atlanta and worked at Dorminy Medical Center. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Wynn enjoyed sewing including monogramming and making dolls. She also did scrapbooking and loved to cook. She was an active member of Crossview Baptist Church where she was in the Adult 6 Sunday school class and served on the Flower Committee and Nominating Committee.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, David Wynn of Fitzgerald; children: Heather Michelle Wynn Carr & Shawn of Fitzgerald and James David “Jamie” Wynn, Jr. & Melanie Henderson of Homerville; grandchildren: Michael Chad Thompson & Lauralee Madison Flournoy, Brennan Chase Thompson, Joshua Channing Thompson, Lyla Suzanne Carr, and Chandler Thomas Wynn; and a sister, Connie Simmerlein of Lakeland, Florida.
