Lorraine A. (Cote) Gentili, 79 of New Bedford died suddenly June 12, 2017 .
She was the wife of the late Ernest J. Gentili, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Donat H. and Adrienne C. (Berube) Cote, she lived in Acushnet for 52 years before moving to New Bedford 4 years ago.
Mrs. Gentili was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church and was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Society. She was awarded the Marian Medal from the Diocese of Fall River for her dedicated service to her parish.
Mrs. Gentili was a member of ACA and the Red Hat Society. She was a volunteer at Damien's Place Food Pantry. Mrs. Gentili enjoyed family gatherings, shopping, casinos, yard sales and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Paul Gentili and his wife Linda of Berkley; 2 daughters, Gina Perry of New Bedford and Laurie Alfonse and her husband Joseph of Acushnet; a brother, Robert Cote of Dartmouth; 3 sisters, Jeanette Trudeau of Ohio, Doris Dupont and Evelyn Hale, both of Florida; a brother-in-law, Alfred Gentili of New Bedford; 6 loving grandchildren, Eric Perry, Matthew Perry, Taylor Alfonse, Morgan Gentili, Ryleigh Alfonse and Nicholas Gentili; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Theresa Stowell.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 22nd at 10 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, June 21st from 5-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
