TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Janice E. (Philpott) Lockhart, age 79, a well known active member of the Tewksbury-Wimington Elks, died peacefully Tuesday morning, June 13, at Wingate at Belvidere in Lowell, after a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Arthur C. Lockhart, with whom she would have celebrated a fifty-fifth wedding anniversary on July 7.
She was born in Los Angeles in November 1937, one of three children of the late Joseph H. and Madeline (Carpenter) Philpott. She was raised in Boston and attended Mission Hills High School in Boston. She and her husband Arthur had lived in Tewksbury for the past five decades. Janice was a member of St. William’s Parish Community.
She retired from Raytheon’s West Andover manufacturing division after forty-three years of service.
Janice was a faithful member of the Tewksbury-Wilmington B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2070.
Besides her husband she leaves three children, Darlene Lockhart of Lowell, Dawn Roberts and her husband Gregg of Wilmington, and Sgt. Major, Dean Lockhart, U.S. Army and his wife Lisa (Long) currently stationed at Ft. Knox, KY; six adored grandchildren, Tyler and Kaileigh Michalewicz, Madison and MacKenzie Roberts, and Morgan and Elisabeth Lockhart; her beloved brother, Joseph Philpott of Tewksbury; and was pre-deceased by her sister, Barbara Melanson.
Visiting hours Thursday, June 15, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.
