FLANNERY, Diane Marie Of Hyde Park, passed away at Newton-Wellesley Hospital on Saturday morning, June 10, 2017, after years of various medical issues. She was 61 years old.
Diane was born, raised and educated in Hyde Park. She was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Dolan) Flannery. She was the loving sister of the late Robert “Bobby” Flannery and sister-in-law of the late Sheila (Bohan) Flannery. Diane was the proud aunt to Shannon Flannery DeFelice and her Godson the late Sean Flannery, great aunt to Jayda Bella and Sean Patrick, and lifelong friend to Laurie Sheridan and Lauren Rogers. Diane also leaves behind many cousins and will be missed by not only her family but friends.
Diane was the type of person that you would never forget if you ever met her. She was known for her quick wit and sharp tongue. Diane loved to read and watch television, specifically game shows and the Law and Order series. While growing up, Diane enjoyed trips to her family’s vacation home on Lake Winnipesaukee in Laconia, NH. Diane resided at Golden Living in West Newton for the last several years. Diane enjoyed community activities such as trivia and bingo. Diane was generous to others and enjoyed playing “Santa” at Christmas.
Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, on Friday, June 16 from 8:30-9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Dedham at 10:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Private burial will be held in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Diane’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
