Bernard Joseph Lacomis, 74, of Woburn, passed away at his home on May 25, 2017 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband for 50 years of Eugenia (Tierney) Lacomis, and father of Dr. Ellen Lacomis and husband Dr. Jim Gordon of Lexington and attorney Daniel Lacomis and wife Felicity Tucker Lacomis of Boulder, CO. He was also the grandfather of Michael and Stephen Gordon and Timothy Lacomis, and the brother-in-law of Judith Tierney and Dianne and Edward Karabin of Scranton, PA. He is further survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bernard was born and raised in Old Forge, PA, and graduated from the University of Scranton with a degree in Electronics. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, then joined the U.S. Patent Office in Washington, D.C. while attending American University Law School, from which he graduated with his JD degree. He worked as in-house patent counsel for Xerox and General Electric before joining Arthur D. Little, Inc., in Cambridge, MA, where he became President of Arthur D. Little Enterprises.
Bernie will always be remembered as a wonderful husband and father and loved for his gentleness, patience, and caring personality, and his intellectual curiosity and love of learning and sports.
