George T. Thornhill, Sr., 88, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was the former owner of Thornhill Bakery, a Marine Corp veteran, a member of Shawnee Masonic Lodge # 830 and a member of the Shrine.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Inez (Lawrence) Thornhill; and sons, Russell Lee and James W. Thornhill.
Survivors include his children, Mary Sue Dowell (Robert), George Thomas Thornhill, Jr. (Shelia) and Bryan “Scott” Thornhill (Pam). Seventeen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be Friday 2pm at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway; with burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens, West.
Visitation will be Thursday 1 pm to 8 pm.
