Joseph S. Chestercove 99, of Franklin, died peacefully, at home surrounded by family, Wednesday June 7, 2017, following an illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley E. (Feeley) Chestercove, who died in 1999.
Born September 22, 1917, in Franklin, a son of the late John P. and Josephine (Liszkavicge) Chestercove, he was a lifelong Franklin resident.
He was raised and educated in Franklin, and until his retirement many years ago, worked for the former Thompson Press and Franklin Paint in the maintenance departments.
Joseph enjoyed spending time with his family, trips to the casino, fishing, clamming on Cape Cod and was a frequent yard sale attendee. He was also a former member of the Franklin Rod and Gun Club.
Joseph is survived by 2 daughters, Patricia J. Santoro and her husband James of Franklin, Judy A. Picchi and her husband Armand of Franklin, a sister Anna Ruo of Franklin, 2 granddaughters, Erica Earl and her husband Steven of Franklin, Candice Hastings and her husband Robert of Franklin and 2 great grandchildren, Bailey Earl & Ryan Hastings.
He was the father of the late John F. Chestercove, grandfather of the late Jack Daniel Chestercove and brother of the late William Chester, Michael Chestercove, Mary Hunchard, Nettie Laba, Alice Turcotte-Johnston, Tina Mancini & Helen Bonollo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass Monday June 12th at 11AM in St. Mary Parish 1 Church Square Franklin. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
