Edward L. Marr, 80, of Londonderry, NH passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at his home following a period of declining health. He was born on March 15, 1937 in Manchester, NH, a son of the late Edward M. and Alice (Lahey) Marr. He was a graduate of Central High School Manchester, Class of 1956 and attended Notre Dame College. He proudly served his country in the US Army before being honorably discharged.
Edward was an entrepreneur who owned many businesses. He owned an unemployment agency, Meineke Muffler Shops in Concord, Amherst, Merrimack and Lowell, MA, Tire Warehouse, Champion Tire and Tire Depot. He also worked for 20 years at Trailways Bus Service. Edward was on the Board of Directors at Londonderry Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed spending summers on Lake Winnepesauke. He will be sadly missed.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 57 years, Shirley (Ramig) Marr, a son, Steven Marr and wife Susan, a daughter, Heidi Marr and his favorite granddaughter Jilene Marr.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, private graveside services will be held at a later date in the Pillsbury Cemetery, Hovey Road, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for the benefit of the Londonderry Fire and Rescue Service, 280 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH 03053, (make checks payable to Nutfield Fire). The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry are assisting the family with arrangements.
