After celebrating her 105th birthday with family and friends in Fort Myers Beach over the Memorial Day weekend, Dorice passed peacefully 5 days later on May 31, 2017. She was the widow of Walter Scott Wheeler whom she married in July 1950 in Ogunquit, Maine.
She was born in Manchester NH to Elizabeth and Joseph Savoie. They were longtime residents of Johnston RI. Dorice had most recently been living in Fort Myers Beach.
She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Parrillo, her sons: William and Roy Wheeler, all of Florida, her grandchildren: Tammy Handevidt, Christine Filippone, and Alexander Wheeler and her two great grandchildren: Paul Gemma and Sophia Filippone. She was predeceased by two grandchildren: Karen Simoneau and William Wheeler Jr., her sisters: Yvette Bresnahan and Evelyn Boisvert and her twin brother, Raymond Savoie
Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 13th at 11:30am in the Anderson Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville RI. Internment will follow in RI Cemetery, Exeter RI. Visitation Monday, June 12th, 4:00- 7:30
