Obituary

Bridgewater – Hazel B. Skillings 87, a longtime resident of Bridgewater, died Tuesday June 6 after a period of failing health.

Born in Weymouth and raised in Abington, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Mildred (Linnell) Skillings and a graduate of Abington High, Class of 1947.

Hazel moved to Bridgewater in 1950, where she had remained an active resident for over 60 years. She was a member of the Scholarship Foundation for Bridgewater-Raynham High and a member of the Ousamequin Club of Bridgewater.

She was also a familiar face having been a co-owner and operator of Anthony’s Charcoal Pit Restaurant of Bridgewater for over 30 years.

She is survived by her son Alan Anacki and his girlfriend Robin Sherman of Bridgewater, and her daughter Kim Flynn of Bridgewater. She is also survived by her grandchildren Cherie Colindres, Robert Anacki, Douglas Anacki, Christopher Flynn and Bridget Anderson and her great grandchildren Bobby, Ryan, William and Charlotte as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald, Paul, Robert and Avis Skillings and Helen Titus.

Her funeral services will be held Monday June 12th at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington. Visiting hours will be held Sunday June 11 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
