Irene J. (Sanderson) Teece, age 78, passed away on June 4, 2017. She was born on Aug. 30, 1938 in Willimasburg, MA. Irene worked for Stavrous Home Health Care as a home health aid for over 15 years. She retired as a state employee. She loved to breed Pomeranian dogs and loved listening to country music. She was also known as the “Queen” of tag sales by her family and friends. She leaves 2 sons, George Albert Polhemus Jr of Springfield and Raymond Robert Polhemus and his wife Dawn of Hampden; 2 daughters, Margaret Gendreau of Hunnington and Susan Viens and her partner Orrin-Kanz of Monson; 1 sister, Marge Smith; her close companion, Joseph Tessier of Chicopee;10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her former husband Harold Teece; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 5-8 p.m., at Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Burial will be private at convenience of family.
