William C. Amico, Springville, formerly of Dorchester, MA, died Monday (09/05) at Bertrand-Chaffee Hospital, Springville, NY. He was 88.
Mr. Amico was born in Boston, the son of the late Calogero and the late Gaspara (Romano) Amico. A Long-time resident of Dorchester, Mr. Amico worked most of his life in the garment industry in Boston and was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union. He also worked many years as a designer with the United States Army Corps of Engineers Lab at Natick, MA. Upon his retirement in 1987, he and his wife settled in Sprinville, New York.
He was the beloved husband of Marie (Nicholas) Amico. He was a devoted father to Robert Amico of Alfred, NY, Charles Amico of Larkspur, CA, and Carol Amico of Quincy. He was a loving grandfather to Maya, Carol, Tracy, Chrissy, and Brian and a loving great-grandfather to Jacob, Gabrielle and Nicholas. He was a dear brother of the late Marianne Storella and Salvatore Amico.
A Funeral Mass was said, Saturday, September 24 in Saint Joseph Chuch, Medford, Mass, followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
