Lead Technician for Tewksbury School Dept.
TEWKSBURY: Kevin R. Carey, age 53, a lifelong Tewksbury resident, passed away unexpectedly during a hike surrounded by close loved ones on Saturday, June 3, 2017.
Born in Saugus on June 14, 1963, he was the son of Robert E. and Elizabeth A. “Bette” (Ryan) Carey, who survive him, of Tewksbury.
Kevin attended Tewksbury schools, and graduated from Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in 1981.
Following graduation, he attended the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
Kevin was currently employed by the Tewksbury Public Schools as the Lead Technician.
He was an avid sports fan and outdoor enthusiast.
Kevin will lovingly be remembered for his devotion to his children and family.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three children, Cameron, Talon, and Tyler Carey all of Dracut; three siblings, Mark Carey and his wife Kim of Litchfield, NH, Roberta Carey Gammon and her husband David Gammon II of Nashua, and Patricia Carey of Florida; six nieces and nephews, Katie Wendlent, Scott Carey, Kristyn Whitican, Kashka, Kaleigh, David Gammon III, and Luke Wendlent; also many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Calling hours are Wednesday, June 7, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will begin Thursday, June 8, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Please Omit Flowers.
