Bernard Grice, 79, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Pruitt Health in Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Monday, June 5, 2017, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, with Minister Michael Lamb officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM at the funeral home.
Mr. Grice was born April 8, 1938, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Joseph Lewis and Thelma Adel McLemore Grice. He worked in textiles at the Fitzgerald Cotton Mill, Modern Fibers, and Shaw Industries. Mr. Grice loved watching Fox News as well as football games and was an avid Purple Hurricane Fan. He loved country music and enjoyed sharing cassette tapes with family and friends. He was a member of the Fitzgerald Church of Christ.
He is survived by two brothers: Floyd Grice of Valdosta and Benny Grice and his wife Vera of Fitzgerald; one sister: Florence Minshew of Rebecca; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Grice of Fitzgerald. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Grice and a sister, Thelma Joyce Grice Moore.
