Obituary

Maurice (Moe) Santos Jr., beloved husband of 64 years to his high school sweetheart, Janet (Perry), passed away peacefully on June 2, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.


Moe was born in Taunton on September 11, 1931 to the late Mauricio and Lucilia (Luz) Santos. He was educated in Taunton and was a 1949 graduate of THS.

Moe was a retired Production Manager for Allied Anodizing in Pawtucket, R.I. He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan and in his youth had been a baseball pitcher for the Twilight League and the PACC. His hobbies included bowling, fishing and golfing. He especially enjoyed playing cards at the PACC where he was a lifetime member.

He is survived by his children: Joyce Wallis and her spouse Luther Sr. of Lakeville, David Santos and his spouse Deborah of Taunton, Lynn Moniz and her spouse Christopher of Taunton. He also leaves behind his six grandchildren: Peter Hillman, Desiree Santos, Jaime Santos and her spouse Holly, Christopher Santos, Jacob Moniz and Jocelyn Moniz. He also leaves his faithful companions Bebe and Spike. He was predeceased by his siblings Elsie Jacinto and Aurelio (Sam) Santos.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 9 am with a funeral service to begin at 10 am in the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) in Taunton.

Interment will follow in Mayflower Hill Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on, Tuesday, June 6th from 5 to 8 pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
