Anna W. Tarsa, 96, formerly of Potters Lane, Chepachet, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Hebert Nursing Home in Smithfield. She was the beloved widow of Stephen J. Tarsa.
Born in Bialak, Poland, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Kunegunda (Nowobilska) Wodziak. She had lived in Chepachet since 1966 and had moved back to Smithfield in 2015.
Anna and her late husband, Stephen, were the co-owners of Ann’s Fish & Chips. She also worked as an assembler at Mine Safety Appliances in Esmond for over 25 years before retiring in 1983.
Anna is survived by her daughters: Carolyn Plante and her husband, Donald W., of Boscawen, New Hampshire, and Nancy J. Tarsa of Boston, Massachusetts, and her sisters: Mary A. and Genevieve C. Wodziak, both of Smithfield. She is the sister of the late H. Joanne and John R. Wodziak.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Eugene Church, Chepachet. Visitation Monday from 3-6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, or a local food pantry.
