Harvey D. Cote, Jr., 84, of Derry, NH died Thursday June 1, 2017 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry following a brief illness. Harvey was born in Derry on December 5, 1932, a son of the late Harvey D. and Frances (Uicker) Cote, Sr. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry and later served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Harvey retired as Deputy Chief from the Derry Fire Department where he had worked for 21 years. Harvey was a member of the State Firemen’s Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1617, American Legion Post #9, Elks Lodge #146, and the Halycon Club of Derry.
He is survived by his nephews, James Cote, Stephen Cote, and Michael Cote all of Derry, several grandnieces, and grandnephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, James Cote in 1996.
Calling hours were held on Sunday June 4, 2017 from 1 – 3pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Following cremation, graveside services will be held on Tuesday June 6th at 10:00am at Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Rd., Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Derry Fire Department Honor Guard, 47 Emerson Rd., Chester, NH 03036.
