Christina Regina (Nemecek) Lindgren passed away peacefully on June 1, 2017. She was 99 years old. Christine was born on January 11, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph Frank and Anna (Rezabek) Nemecek. She was raised in Ladysmith, Wisconsin and worked at the Ladysmith Co-op Store with her good friend, Dena Bos, before she met and married Hjalmer Lawrence (Larry) Lindgren on December 6, 1947. They were married for 59 years. When her children were older, she worked for many years at various K-Mart stores in the Midwest where she retired and then worked for a few years at Target. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, two sons, Robert and William (Bill), her parents, her brother, Louis C., her sister, Sylvia, and her special cousin, Ervin Vesely. She is survived by her children, Sylvia (Dale) Holtberg, Don (Jane) Lindgren and Russ (Chris) Lindgren, her granddaughter, Kalie Lindgren, cousins and nieces and nephews. She was feisty and funny and will be remembered for her quick wit, strong work ethic and her love of family. She enjoyed her visits to gaming establishments and playing cards. She was loved by the staff and caregivers at the Ramsey County Care Center where she spent her last years and her family thanks them for their wonderful care and attention to our Mom. Thanks also to the HealthEast Hospice team for their concern and support during Mom’s last months. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Monday (August 7, 2017) 11:00 AM at CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 2600 N. Margaret St., North St. Paul. Visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the Church. Internment at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery next to her husband.
