Ruth G. Scharnowske, 89, of Anderson died on May 29, 2017 at her residence following a sudden illness.
She was born on September 2, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio to Herbert A. and Gertrude L. (Woods) Snow.
She graduated from Anderson High School in the Class of 1945. She graduated from Indiana Business College and Ball State University with a Library Science degree.
She was a librarian at Anderson Community Schools for 20 years and St. Ambrose Catholic School for 3 years and retired in 1988.
She was devoted to her family, friends, and 2 small dogs, Maggie and Mindy.
She is survived by her son, Bob (Barb) Scharnowske of Alexandria; Daughter-in-law, Denise (Scharnowske) Roberts of Noblesville; 5 grandchildren, Amy (Phil) Newland of Anderson, Laura (Matt) Morris of Yorktown, Kristin (Ray) Coyne of Carmel, Ryan (Julie) Scharnowske of Westfield and Sara (Colin) Eacret of Noblesville; 6 great-grandchildren, Barrett and Brendon Morris, Ian and Trevor Newland, and Kara and Patrick Coyne; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a husband, Robert Scharnowske, a son, Michael A. Scharnowske, and a brother, Harold A. Snow.
A Memorial Service will be at 2pm on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Kent Stookey officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park at a later date.
Visitation will be from 12pm-2pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Madison County Humane Society, St. Ambrose Catholic Church or Holy Cross School.
