Elizabeth P. McNamara
Long Time North Tewksbury resident

TEWKSBURY: Elizabeth P. (Emmons) McNamara, age 94, a North Tewksbury resident for over 50 years, passed away at the Palm Center in Chelmsford on Monday, May 29, 2017.

She was the beloved wife of Dr. Peter J. McNamara, who passed away on March 2, 2005.

Born in Biddeford, Maine on August 24, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Warren Emmons and the late Marcella (Cullen) Emmons.

Elizabeth was raised in Dracut, attended Dracut schools and graduated from Dracut High School in 1940.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a social services clerk at the Tewksbury Hospital and the Belchertown State School. In addition, she worked as the office manager for her late husband, Dr. Peter J. McNamara.

She enjoyed dancing, traveling to Maine, playing tennis, and spending time with her family and friends.

Elizabeth’s family extends a special thank you to the staff at the Palm Center for their care and support.

Elizabeth is survived by three children, Atty. Peter J. McNamara, Jr. of Pelham, NH, Brian J. McNamara of Lowell, and Kathleen A. McNamara of Tewksbury; one granddaughter, Elizabeth E. McCarron and her husband Robert of Newton, NH; several cousins including the Charles Partridge family of Chelmsford, and the Hopkins families of Waltham and Medford. She also leaves longtime family friend, Kevin Keane of Lowell.

Elizabeth was the mother of the late Philip C. McNamara, who passed away on July 16, 2007, and mother-in-law of the late Teresa (Mangin) McNamara, who passed away on December 22, 2002.

Calling hours are Thursday, June 1, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will begin on Friday, June 2, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggetts Pond Rd., Andover. Following cremation, interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flower, donations in her memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, www.dana-farber.org, P.O.
