Obituary

Simone A. Montville, 96, formerly of Woonsocket, died Thursday May 18, 2017 at St. Antoine Residence. She was the loving wife of the late Francis G. Montville.
Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Albert and Emma (Laporte) Laferriere. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Montville was employed at the Lafayette and the Argonne Worsted companies and later worked for Miller Electric for many years before retiring.
Along with her late husband Simone loved dancing. She was active in ballroom dancing and took dance lessons. Additionally she shared her enthusiasm by teaching others how to dance. She was a member of the Royal Travelers. They enjoyed traveling through the United States, Canada, Europe and going on a number of cruises.
Simone will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two sons Harold F. “Harry” Montville and his wife Leona of Bellingham and Marcel A. Montville and his wife Christine of Smithfield. She was the sister of the late Albert “Pete” and Edmond Laferriere, Marie Sterliccio and Cecile Holik. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael Montville, Sarah Rowell and Elizabeth Raiche and great-grandchildren Christian, Ella, Addison, Austin, Hayden and Alice and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 11:00 am in St. Antoine Chapel 10 Rhodes Ave. North Smithfield. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Rhode Island 245 Waterman St. Suite 306 Providence, RI. 02906. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
