Linda Reaser Smith, 78, of Anderson passed away quietly on May 25, 2017, at Kindred Allison-Pointe Nursing Home in Indianapolis after an extended illness.
Linda was born on March 6, 1939 to Forrest W. Reaser, Sr. and Ethel Marie (Mullens) Reaser in Rainelle, WV. She moved to Indiana to attend Anderson College (Anderson University). While working at a bakery to earn extra money, she met her future husband, Leland R. Smith, Jr.
Linda was an avid lover of dogs, especially German Shepherds. She loved to grow flowers and plants, and enjoyed arranging cut flowers. She also loved listening to gospel music. As a youth, she sang with the Reaser Family Quartet.
Linda was a longtime production employee and retiree of General Motors in Anderson.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jennie L. (Gary) Schulze of Indianapolis and Jill L. Smith of Portland, IN; her two siblings, sister, Judith Gail Reaser (Richard ) Merrill of Stafford, VA and brother, Forrest W. Reaser, Jr. of Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Lorri Kae Smith and her husband, Leland R. Smith, Jr.
Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Chaplin Gary Scott officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
