WAYLAND: Frank R. Antonell, 92, died peacefully and comfortably on Tuesday May 23, 2017 in the excellent care at Parmenter Hospice in Wayland with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Bronx, New York, March 14, 1925, the son of the late Leonard Antonelli and Mary (Pellegrino) Antonelli.
Frank was the devoted and caring husband for 65 years of the late Catherine M. “Kay” (Lippert) Antonell who died on April 17, 2014. He was the loving father of Catherine E. Lupo and her husband Thomas Lupo of Roslyn, NY, Cliff Antonell and his wife Kim Antonell of Wayland and Stephen Antonell and his wife Denise Azcoitia of Tampa. FL. Also survived by his grandchildren: Regina Lupo, Alyssa and her husband Daniel McLaughlin; David Antonell and his wife Morgan, Matthew Antonell and his wife Katie, Michael Antonell and his wife Anna Grace, Rachel Antonell and step-grandchildren Jade Schweiberger and Marcos Azcoitia and great-granddaughter Avery Kay Antonell.
Frank served his country proudly during World War II with the United States Army. He then married and Frank and his wife Kay, lived in New York until Frank was transferred to Boston in 1969 by Lockwood Green Engineers where he was a registered architect and manager of the Boston office. He started his own firm in 1974 of Antonell Associates in Waltham where he conducted architectural as well as construction jobs for commercial and residential buildings until his retirement in 1997. He was a longtime communicant, with his wife Kay, of St. Ann’s Church in Wayland. Frank served the town of Wayland for many years on Wayland Conservation Commission as a Commissioner and Chairman. He was a resident of Wayland for over 48 years.
Frank enjoyed artistic expression in various mediums and his family and friends are grateful for his paintings and wood burnings. He also enjoyed writing his own memoirs and short stories. Frank believed in helping the community and charitable organizations and volunteered for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation and church and school fundraisers.
Frank was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family and will be missed by all the lives that he touched in his 92 years.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte. 30), Wayland.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 9:00 am at the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Ann’s Church, 124 Cochituate Road (Rte. 27), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Antonell family lot in North Cemetery in Wayland.
