BEVERLY ANN PRENDERGAST
A Loving and Devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother
NATICK: Beverly Ann Prendergast, 86, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Formerly a long-time resident of Hudson, she was most recently residing in Natick with her son James, and his wife Elizabeth following the passing of the love of her life and doting husband of sixty three years, Donald James Prendergast.
She was born in Utica, NY to James Frederick and Muriel Frances (Williams) Allbright. The oldest of six siblings, she is survived by her sister Carol Belmont. Beverly leaves her nine children: James Prendergast and his wife Elizabeth, Catherine Pittman and her husband Mark, Thomas Prendergast and his wife Deborah, Teresa Karangioze and her husband Nick, Kevin Prendergast and his wife Calli, Mary Louise Kadlik and her husband Don Jr., Mark Prendergast, William Prendergast and his wife Trish and Christopher Prendergast along with her twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Bev was a dedicated and loving homemaker, an excellent cook and the consummate host for every family gathering throughout her long life. She especially enjoyed hosting her annual Christmas Breakfast following midnight Mass for her large family and many friends, whom she always considered and treated as family.
After raising her children, Bev dedicated herself to helping others by returning to school to earn her LPN and going on to serve patients at the Bolton Nursing Home.
Bev and Don spent their summer vacation every year with their children in the Thousand Islands, NY and would later go on to spend summers there at Linda Island welcoming back her children and her beloved grandchildren. Following Don’s retirement, they relocated near their son Mark to St. Petersburg, FL where they were always delighted to host family and friends as they enjoyed the sunshine, beaches and lack of winter snow.
The family would like to thank Brookhaven Hospice for their compassion and support for Beverly and her family.
The family will receive friends for visitations on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte. 30), Wayland.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 9:00 am at Good Shepherd at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main St. (Rte. 27), Wayland.
Interment will be held in Memorial Park in St. Petersburg, FL.
