Obituary

Edward K. Conley age 69 of Brockton, died Wednesday May 24, 2017 at the South Shore Rehabilitation Center. He was the devoted husband of Beverly E. Sullivan-Conley. Ed was born in Boston and raised in “Southie” a son of the late Edward A. and Anna (Flaherty) Conley and had lived in Brockton for the past 40 years.

During the Vietnam War, Ed enlisted in the US Marine Corps and received two Purple Hearts while serving in the war. He was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. Ed loved being a Marine and had been a longtime member of the VFW Post 8892 in Avon where he enjoyed the camaraderie.

For many years Ed had worked at Medical Specialties in Easton and previously worked for the City of Brockton Refuse Department.

In his free time Ed loved working on his computer and fishing. He will be remembered as a humorous and good natured man who never said a bad word about anyone. He loved being a Marine and its brotherhood.

Ed was the father of Kerry Skinner and her husband Richard of Plymouth and step-father of Shawn Sullivan of Ocala, FL; Christopher Sullivan, Sr. and his wife Zonya of Laurinburg, NC and Colleen Eklund and her husband Paul of Holbrook.
He leaves two sisters Toni Reynolds of Quincy and Maureen Mullin of Wareham, 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123) Brockton on Tuesday May 30, 2017 from 5-8pm. Committal services will be held at the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne on Wednesday at 10am. A procession will gather at the funeral home at 8:30 for an 8:45 departure to the cemetery.
