Candace J. (Bennett) Rockwood, age 60, of Mansfield, formerly of Norton, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, May 25, 2017. She was the wife of the late Richard Rockwood who died in 1986.
Born in Attleboro, MA on April 26, 1957, she was a loving daughter of Andrew E., Sr. and Martha (Reed) Bennett of Harwich.
Candy grew up in Norton and was a graduate of Norton High School. She had made her home in Mansfield for over thirty-five years and had worked as a cashier at Rite Aid in Mansfield.
Candy attended the First Christian Church in West Mansfield. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing card games with friends and helping others in need.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her devoted son David S. Rockwood and his wife Heather of Attleboro. She was the loving grandmother of Eleanor P. Rockwood. She was the dear sister of Andrew Bennett, Jr. of North Attleboro, Cathy Graham of Harwich, Carol Bennett of Pawtucket, Cindy Remillard of Harwich, Connie Eldredge of Harwich, Chris Gonsalves of CT and Corrine Forbes of North Attleboro, and is also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, May 30th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will be held privately at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Candy’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 1324 Belmont St., #204, Brockton, MA 02301.
