Philip A. Howard, 51, of Kingston, NH passed away peacefully at home Monday, May 22, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Kerri (McDermott) Howard. Philip was born September 23, 1965 in Haverhill, MA the son of the late Richard and Joan (Preble) Howard. He spent his early years growing up in Haverhill graduating from Haverhill High School. Philip was a 1988 graduate of Merrimack College in N. Andover, MA where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in arts and political science and was a member of the Nu Phi Kappa Fraternity. Philip proudly dedicated over 27 years in the insurance industry as an Insurance Claims Manager. He enjoyed the music of Bruce Springsteen, time with his family and friends and was an avid golfer.
In addition to his loving wife of ten years, Philip is survived by two brothers; Chris Howard and wife Marianne of Portland, ME and Matthew Howard of Lynn, MA. He also leaves behind his mother and father-in-law; Bob and Maureen McDermott, a brother in law; Robert McDermott and wife Kelsey of Raymond, NH, nephews; Andrew, Tanner, Nathaniel, Jeremy, Robbie and Coner, nieces; Molly, Alison, and Dania, many dear friends including his Nu Phi Kappa Fraternity brothers of Merrimack College whom he held close in his heart and his cats Domino and James. Philip was predeceased by two brothers; Geoffrey Howard and Andrew Howard, and his beloved sister Martha Howard.
Calling hours will be held Monday, May 29, from 4-7pm at The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home 129 Kenoza Ave. Haverhill, MA 01830. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Philip’s memory Tuesday, May, 30 at 11am from Saint Anne Parish 26 Emerson Ave. Hampstead, NH followed by interment in Elmwood Cemetery Salem St. Bradford, MA. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Philip’s memory be made to The Jimmy Fund c/o The Dana Farber Cancer Institute P.O. Box 849168 Boston, MA 02284-9168.
