Whitman - Wayne M. Scott 80, a longtime resident of Whitman, died Tuesday May 23 after a long period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of sixty years to Margaret L. (Stocks) Scott.
Born in Milton he was the son of the late Jack and Vera (McCaffrey) Scott.
Wayne had been a resident of Whitman for forty-five years and had worked many years as a salesman in the Gourmet Food industry.
He loved going to antique car shows with family and friends and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. His great sense of humor will be truly missed by all.
Wayne’s family is very grateful for the care he received for the past five years at the Brockton Regional Kidney Center.
In addition to his wife Margaret he is survived by his children Janice Poirier of Brockton, David Scott and Richard Scott both of Whitman, Cynthia Scott and her fiancé Michael Allen of East Bridgewater and Keith Scott and his wife Jenica of California, his brothers Ronald Scott and his wife Blanche of NH and Lee Scott and his wife Gerry of MA. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his children Karen Shionis and Wayne R., George and Donna Jean Scott and his siblings Vera, Jack, Alan, Arthur and Patricia, also one grandchild and one great grandchild.
