TEWKSBURY - Leonard Jackson “Jack” Jeffery, age 76, died peacefully at L.G.H. - Saint’s Medical on Monday morning after a long period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of Irene May (Clifford) Jeffery, with whom he had celebrated a fifty-sixth wedding anniversary this past April 16th.
He was born in Stoneham, in September 1940, one of three children of the late Russell and Beatrice (Pierce) Jeffery, and raised in Melrose, Wakefield, and Malden. He and Irene had lived in Tewksbury since 1992.
He graduated from Cambridge Academy, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in American English from Coolidge College. Jack served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1958 until 1966, and later the Army National Guard.
He worked as a Job Coach business trainer at Morgan Memorial.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Scott A. and his wife Gina (Avignone) Jeffery of Tucson, AZ, James M. and his wife Kim (Hebert) Jeffery of Dunstable, and Jennifer A. and her husband Peter Maccioli of Tewksbury; three grandchildren, Sarah Maccioli, Alexandra “Sasha” Jeffery, and Maxwell “Max” Jeffery; a brother, Russell L. Jeffery M.D. and his wife Theresa of Reading; many nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by his sister, Sandra Levesque.
