Melba Rowe, 87, of Yulee passed away Tuesday morning, Jay 23, 2017 at the Community Hospice Warner Center in Fernandina Beach.
She was born march 14, 1930 in Arcadia, Florida and moved to Yulee from Jacksonville in 1991.
She did book keeping and clerical work for the companies that handle the parking at the Jacksonville Airport and the University of North Florida. When she wasn't working she enjoyed spending time at home.
Mrs. Rowe was predeceased by a son, Lamar Long; a great grandson, William Hester; sister, Betty Johnson; and a half brother, Norman Britt.
She is survived by a son, Wayne Long; sister, Dorothy Plymill; four grandchildren, Annette Bowers (and her husband, Mike), Kelsey Long, David Long (and his wife, Carmen); and Michael Hester; and two great grandchildren, Jessica Hester and Marissa LarRue.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday May 26, at Green Pine Cemetery with Rev. Jackie Hayes officiating.
