LEICESTER: Hanna J. Joseph 89, of Leicester, died peacefully Monday, May 22 at his home.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Marilyn M. (Brown) Joseph, his son, John A. Joseph of Leicester, his daughters, Maria H. Joseph of Charlestown and Jennifer H. Barris and her husband Michael of Paxton, and grandchildren Hannah and Nicholas Barris of Paxton. He is predeceased by his sister Wadad Thomas, niece Elizabeth Thomas and nephew Mitchell Thomas.
Born in Lebanon, he was the son of John and Mary (Salomon) Joseph.
Family meant everything to Hanna. He also loved his work and America.
He was a real estate developer for more than 50 years, starting with the building of a car hop restaurant in the 60's, followed by the Leicester Drive-In Theatre, then several apartment complexes and two hotels. He served his country with the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Our Lady of Mercy Church in Worcester and also the Leicester Business Association.
The Funeral will be held Friday, May 26 from MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester, with a Mass at 10 A.M. in Our Lady of the Mercy Church, 341 June St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-7 P.M. in the funeral home.
